All
contractors and other third parties with whom we have a contractual
arrangement with are contractually obligated to ensure that their
practices meet our standards and are fully compliant with the
Personal Information Protection and Electronic Document Act (PIPEDA).
Purpose
of Customer Information Collection
Interface
Technologies mainly collects business information, which falls
outside the realm of PIPEDA. This information is only collected
to establish and maintain responsible commercial relationships,
to provide clients with ongoing service and to manage and develop
our business and operations.
Personal Information is only be collected and used in the following
instances:

To register or manage a domain name for an individual; or
-
When an individual fills out a contact form on the Interface
Technologies Web site.
Regardless
as to how and from whom we collected some information; we will
not sell Personal or Business Information to any organization,
for any purpose.
Obtaining Consent for Collection, Use or Disclosure of Personal
Information
Personal information from an individual is required for the registration
of a domain name. When a registration is done online the registrant
is required to:
- Have
read and understood this policy;
- Understand
that we require the information to properly register their domain
name; and
- Agree
to the collection, use and disclosure of their personal information
to register a domain name
Individuals
filling out a feedback form on the Interface Technologies Web
site are required to:
- Have
read and understood this policy;

Agree to the collection and use of their personal information
for the sole purpose of soliciting information regarding Interface
Technologies services; and
-
Understand that Interface Technologies will not retain their
information or solicit them beyond the initial feedback form
request.
Individuals
may withdraw consent for the further use of their information
at any time, by contacting the Privacy Officer. However, if the
information in question is that which must be collected in order
to register a domain name, withdrawing consent will lead to the
cancellation of the domain name registration.
Collection of Personal Information:
The
following information is collected through our Web site:
Domain
Registrants:
-
Name, address, phone number, email, secondary email (if applicable),
legal type (if registering a .ca), and fax number (if voluntarily
provided)
Feedback
Form:
-
Name, address, phone number and email address.
Site
Visitors:
-
Traffic patterns throughout all of our sites are tracked. However,
we do not correlate this information with data about individual
users.
- A
break down of overall usage statistics according to a user's
domain name, browser type, and MIME type is collected by reading
information from the browser string (information contained in
every user's browser).

Tracking and cataloging of search terms a user enters in our
Search function, but this tracking is never associated with
individual users. We use tracking information to determine which
areas of our sites users like and don't like based on traffic
to those areas.
- The
servers automatically log the previous page visited prior to
accessing our web page.
Use,
Disclosure and Retention
We
do not use information for marketing purposes, and do not share
or disclose the information to other parties unless specifically
stated in this policy.
In
the event that a law enforcement agency, court of competent jurisdiction,
or any other judicial body of competent jurisdiction requests
personal information, we will only disclose personal information
if we are obligated to do so by law or if we have received a warrant,
subpoena, court order, or an order from another lawful authority.
All such disclosures are documented unless prohibited by law.
Certain
information provided to us through the domain registration process
is made available to the public through the WHOIS service. The
WHOIS service can be accessed through the Domain Search feature
on the Interface Technologies Web site. At the current time, that
information is limited to the following:

the name, address, phone number, email, and fax number (if provided)
of the administrative contact and technical contact;
- the
name of the Registrant;
- each
Domain Name Registration;
-
the Internet Protocol Number of the primary name server and
secondary name server(s) and their corresponding names;
-
the registration date and the date of each Domain Name Registration
was last changed;
- the
expiration date of each Domain Name Registration held by the
Registrant; and
- the
name of the Registrant's Registrar responsible for each Domain
Name Registration.
Any
person may use the Interface Technologies Domain Search, provided
it is for the following purposes only:
(a)
to query the availability of a domain name;
(b) to identify the holder of a domain name; and/or
(c) to contact the holder of a domain name registration in regard
to the domain name or in regard to the respective website.
The
WHOIS information returned through the Interface Technologies
Domain Search feature shall not be used for any other purposes
other than those mentioned above. Purposes which are prohibited
shall include, but are not limited to, any activities which are
unsolicited and can reasonably be viewed as harvesting WHOIS addresses
(electronic or otherwise) for the purpose of transmitting by e-mail,
telephone, facsimile, or regular mail any commercial, advertising,
market research, solicitation activities, or any other purposes
which may be reasonably viewed as intrusive to a reasonable domain
name holder.
Accuracy
Interface Technologies maintains the accuracy of any personal
information collected about you is by your own willingness to
provide accurate and up-to-date information to us.
If
you think we have information about you that is not accurate,
you are encouraged to contact us and indicate the necessary changes.
We may require that you follow certain procedures that are utilized
by us for authentication and verification of your identity.
Safeguards
We maintain state of the art firewall and anti-virus protection
on our servers, use password-protected systems, train our staff,
and hire only responsible and capable contractors to manage systems.
If you detect any anomalies that might lead you to believe there
has been a security infraction or hacking of our system, we will
be pleased to investigate.
Individual
Access
Access to information pertaining to yourself or your business
that Interface Technologies has on record can only be accessed
by a written request. Supporting documentation and proof of identification
may be required.
We
will not sell, share, or rent personal or business information
to others in ways different from what is disclosed in this statement.

We take privacy seriously and consider that our treatment of personal
information is part of the service that we offer. We appreciate
